White Rose Memorial Scholarship Fund

The White Rose Memorial Scholarship Fund was the inspiration of an Epsilon Eta Brother, who had the idea and goal of honoring our Brothers who have entered the Chapter Eternal.  The Fund was established about 15 years ago and is working in conjunction with the Allen Barr Olson Scholarship (a Sigma Tau, who bequeathed a substantial amount of money to assist local Sigma Chis in furthering their education at Fresno State.)

The corpus of the fund is currently in excess of $125,000.  The funds are held by the Fresno State Foundation and managed by them.  Only the earnings are allowed to be distributed.  The Sigma Chi Chapter Advisor and Fund Committee have total control over who receives the scholarship.  The requirements are that the student must be a Sigma Chi enrolled at Fresno State and living in the Fraternity House.

Last year approximately $6500 in scholarships were awarded.  The amount will increase each year as more funds are being received annually.  All donations are fully tax deductible and tax information and receipt will be provided by the University.  Additionally, when a donation is made honoring a deceased Brother, the family of the deceased receives notification of who made the donation honoring their family member.  The honored Brother’s name is then engraved on a Memorial Plaque in the Chapter House Trophy Case.

Contributions to the Scholarship Fund can be made out to “White Rose Scholarship” and mailed to:
